Fullwood Primary Sustainability
Doing our bit to be more sustainable
Everyone doing their bit to help save the environment is critical, and Fullwood Primary School is no exception. Even small efforts help towards the overall impact, and are especially important given the current climate.
We’re all too familiar with reading about, or watching reports on the effects of climate change, and how over consumption is damaging the environment. It is also an issue that we believe children are becoming more aware about.
Our commitment
Fullwood Primary School is committed to doing it’s bit, and one such area in which we’ve reduced waste is in the technology we use around the school – namely our printers. Energy consumption is always a concern, so when choosing models we were concerned about efficiency.
Our printer leasing specialists COS Sales helped us choose our Konica printer copiers which are made from 98% recycled material. They are also energy star rated, meaning that their energy consumption is far more efficient at 10% less than standard. This efficiency has a knock on effect on Co2 emissions which are reduced by 15%. We also use printer toner from Simitri which are made from 9% plant based materials.
We strongly believe that even the smallest changes add up to create a much larger effect, and are committed to doing what we can the lessen our impact on the environment. We hope that this mindset can be passed on to the children so that they are able to make choices that will also help in saving our planet.
We are looking forward to receiving Redbridge Local Authority’s Climate Action plan so we can look into more ways as a school we can do our part for the environment.
